POLICE ARREST SIX PARENTS FOR BREAKING INTO HEADTEACHER’S OFFICE

Police in Masindi have arrested six parents for allegedly breaking into the office of the headteacher of Byerima primary school in Bwijanga sub county Masindi district.

Mr. Bosco Bakashaba, the District Police Commander Masindi, confirmed the arrest of the suspects and identified them as; Kasigwa Amuli, Kugonza Juliet the secretary PTA, Musinguzi Godfrey, Kunihira Harriet, Musinguzi Sam and Rubale Dolika both residents of Byerima village.

Bakashaba added that they were arrested  on charges of criminal tress pass noting that they tress passed on the headmaster’s office of Byerima primary school adding that they are going to be produced in court after the investigations are complete.

Kiiza Hosea, the headteacher Byerima primary school, told www.mknewslink.com reporter that On 3rd October 2016 parents and non-parents from Byerima and the neighboring villages stormed the school and broke into his office which led to the loss of 2.5 million which was in his office by that time.

He added that the people who stormed his office were mobilized by Katonde Beatrace the Vice chairperson PTA Byerima primary school.

He added that the parents were accusing him of embezzling two million shillings that had been collected by the parents to construct a pit latrine something Kiiza said was not true.

He added that parents sued him for misusing the said money but the case was dismissed from grade 1 magistrate’s court after it lacked evidence

Kiiza also said that many people like the Chief Administrative Officer, the District Education Officer and the RDC have approached the parents advising them to apologies before Kiiza but they refused to do so noting that this is what prompted him to engage the legal means.

The suspects were arrested from court while they had come to attend  court where they had be sued for defaming the same head teacher that he had stolen 2 million meant for the construction of the toilet. Kiiza opened civil and the criminal case against the suspects.
