Mandela national stadium, Namboole management has asked Bobi Wine to get an alternative date to hold his Kyarenga concert instead of October 20.
The singer cum legislator announced he would hold a live concert headlining his latest track titled Kyarenga immediately he returned from US for specialized treatment.
However, in an October 11 letter, Jamil Ssewanyana Mpagi the Managing Director for Namboole said the that the stadium has two pre-booked events namely Uganda Athletic Federation workshop from 15th October to 26th October and a wedding ceremony on 20th October 2018when kyarenga is also to take place.
The stadium management emphasised that they had communicated the same position to Bobi Wines contact person, Yasin Kaweesi to indicate to them that the venue had already been booked for other functions.
We advise you to choose another date for your event subject to the events schedule of the stadium and event clearance by the Uganda Police Force.the letter reads in part.
Asked whether the organisers of the concert had not made any advance payments, Ssewanyana said he could only accept or deny after crosschecking with the stadium finance department.
I cant deny or accept. You ought to speak to the organisers of the concert to tell you more because we asked them to get a clearance from police but have never returned to us, the Namboole stadium Managing Director said.
