Ten people have been killed in Kasese district today following the resumption of fighting between the Uganda people’s defense forces [UPDF], police and people royal to the Omusinga wa Rwanzururu Charles Wensly Iremangoma.
According to sources from Kasese town, eight people were killed at the office of the prime minister of Rwenzururu kingdom located in kasese town.
The Source added Two royal guards were killed at Mariba police post as they tried to attack the police post.
Radio Messiah journalist based in Kasese covering the incidents, Joel Kaguta told a www.mknewslink.com editor on phone at 4:00pm today that the situation was tense and the commanders from all security departments didn’t want to talk to media.
The journalist added that the office of the kingdom prime minister Johnson Thembo was vandalized after the killings.
The second division commander, Brig. Peter Erweru picked www.mknewslink.com editor but noted that he was in a meeting and could not speak to us. He cut off the phone call immediately.
