It was a year 2002 when tycoon Bassajabalaba run bankrupt and former minister Mary Karooro Okurut made an appointment to meet president Museveni to rescue him.
The appointment was successfully, and Bassajabalaba who was bankrupt at the time had land titles but had no money.
The president ordered Mutebile who was one year old in office to give Bassajabalaba 21billion shillings.
Being a Mukiga and principled man, Mutebile told Mueseveni that he would resign if the money was advanced to Basajabalaba
According to credible sources at the time, arbitrators between Mutebile and president Museveni took centre stage and later Mutebile accepted to advance 21 billion to Bassajabala after he deposited his land titles.
He paid all debts that were on his neck and got a balance which he used to start strong companies which include Kampala International University with branches in Kansanga, Ishaka and Dare Salam Tanzania.
Despite the advance of 21 billion to Bassajabalaba by BOU governor Late Mutebile, there were other disagreements between the two parties over the titles though www.mknewslink.com did not establish how the disagreements ended.
