Bushenyi deputy resident district commissioner Mr.William Katsigazi has revealed that the church for pastor Eddie which was closed last month will remain closed until the district security committee sits and takes a decision.
Pastor Eddie Tibategyeza was arrested a month ago on charges of conning his followers.
According to Bushenyi chief magistrate’s court records, Pastor Eddie was released on bail from Nyamushekyera government prison on March 28, 2024.
Deputy RDC Katsigazi told www.mknewslink.com news website today April 02, 2024 that after the district security committee has pronounced itself on the matter, it will call a meeting of stakeholders, chairmen LC1 to resolve the issue once and for all.
He added that they will not interfere with the court process but rather deal with administrative matters of the church.
About ten of his followers allege that pastor Eddie duped them and stole over 10m from them.
Godffrey Obote the LC2 chairman for central ward told www.mknewslink.com that pastor Eddie beat him up when he turned up in his church to demand his money for the service he offered during xmas.
