KIKUUBE: KYANGWALI REFUGEE CAMP PUT UNDER LOCK DOWN AFTER 20 CONTACTS TEST POSITIVE TO COVID19

Albertine regional Covid19 task force has put Kyangwali refugee resettlement camp under a total lock down and complete curfew for 14 days after a spike in Covid19 cases.
The district cases rose to 21 cases in two weeks, all registered in Kyangwali refugee settlement camp in Kyangwali sub county.
Richard Tabaro, the Kikuube Resident District Commissioner issued an order on Tuesday evening after meeting with the regional task force at the district headquarters.
Tabaro told journalists that there will be no inter-sub county movements including passing through the entire Kyangwali sub county, only the personnel of essential services permitted by the Sub county chief will be allowed.
He added that no movements will be permitted for persons found with no masks within Kikuube district.
This lockdown is likely to affect election exercise for candidates vying for the NRM flag on parliamentary seats slated 4th September but Tabaro insists that elections can be halted to save lives.
Dr. Nicholas Kwikiriza, the District Health Officer said that 20 contacts of a 27 year old refugee who succumbed to COVID19 tested positive for the disease as per Monday results.
