KISORO OWC COORDINATOR COMMITS SUICIDE

Police in Kisoro is investigating circumstances under which one of the coordinators of the Kisoro District Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), commited suicide over unknown reasons

Elly Maate the Kigezi police Regional spokesperson identified the deceased as Rtd Capt Bagabe Clever the Operation Wealth Creation commander Bufumbira South constituency and Kisoro municipality and resident of Bigiva Village in Kisoro municipality was found dead when he had hanged himself on a rope at his place of residence.

It’s alleged that on the 17/08/2022, Col Kayita Deo Commander Operation Wealth Creation Kisoro district called the deceased on his phone several times and he was not picking, which prompted him to move to physically check, only to find the deceased hanging on a rope for yet unknown reason.

The Body of the deceased was on Wednesday 17th August 2022 found dangling on a rope in his house in Chahi Sub-county, Kisoro District.

ASP Maate revealed that Col Kayita Deo Commander Operation Wealth Creation Kisoro district reported the case on the 17/08/2022 at about 1900hrs.Scene was visited and examined, body taken to the Kisoro hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Kisoro Resident District Commissioner Hajji Shafique Ssekandi Ssengoba who is also the Chairman of the District Security committee has confirmed the incident without divulging any more information saying that the Police and UPDF would issue an official statement over the matter.

The case of suicide by hanging was registered at Kisoro Central Police station under reference number SD 37/17/08/2022
