MEDICAL DOCTOR IMPREGNANTS BIOLOGICAL DAUGHTER, BWERANYANGI STUDENT, REMANDED TO NYAMUSHEKYERA

Chief magistrate’s court sitting in Bushenyi recently remanded Dr. Gilverse Rubagumya Twiine until 20th September when he will come for the mention of his case.
Bartison Baguma the state attorney for greater Bushenyi charged Dr. Rubagumya a former Doctor at Kitagata hospital with aggravated defilement though the victim was 17 years old.
According to the defilement law that was amended, if a relative or teacher defiles a child and infects him or her with HIV, he is charged with aggravated defilement even if the victim is 16 or17.
The daughter for Rubagumya is 17 year old and is a student at Bweranyangi girls’ secondary school and he used her several times.
What broke the Carmel’s back was beginning of second term when he gave the daughter some abortion pills which he advised her to swallow if the periods did not show up.
The girl never saw her period while at school thus she took the abortion pills which almost killed her but she was rushed to the hospital where she narrated the ordeal.
Bushenyi district police intervened and arrested Rubagumya and took him into custody but www.mknewslink.com is yet to establish whether the girl reported back to Bweranyangi or went to another school.
