PATIENTS OVERWHELM FREE MEDICAL CAMP IN RUKUNGIRI DISTRICT

Patients have overwhelmed the free medical camp in Rukungiri district.
Yesterday a team of well wishers called Buyanja my roots pitched camp at Buyanja health center III in Buyanja town council Rukungiri district to provide free treatment to the residents.
The free medical camp was jointly supported by lions club Rukungiri district in conjunction with new century Bukoto lions club and Buyanja town council.
Thousands of residents with all sorts of ailments flocked the medical camp to benefit from the free treatment. Allan Asinguza Mutemba, the mind master of the free medical camp said that he was surprised by the poor and sub- standardized health services in Rukungiri district.
Asinguza said that he contacted his friends in Kampala who offered to come and provide free treatment to residents.
He said that the medical team comprising of Pharmacists, Surgeons, Ophthalmologists and other experts were overwhelmed by the number of patients who turned up.

71 -year old, one of the patients who have flocked the medical camp said that she has been suffering from high blood pressure for the last 20 years adding that she has never received any treatment for the last two years because she couldnt afford it.
50- year old- Nuciat Kyamulimi, a resident of Buyanja sub- County said that she has been ill for over a month after failing to get treatment of abdominal pain and suspected obstetric fistula adding that she went to Buyanja health III but didnt receive any medication.
She is however, optimistic that despite the fact that she has not yet received treatment at the medical camp, she is sure the visiting doctors will examine her condition because she is on waiting list.
Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the state minister for housing and the Kinkiizi east Member of Parliament speaking as the guest of honor said that he decided to support the medical camp after he was informed about the increasing illnesses among the innocent Ugandans of Buyanja sub- County. He donated 3 beds to help expectant mothers.
Over 600 patients turned up for free treatment of HIV/AIDS testing, cancer screening, diabetes and pressure testing, family planning methods among others.
