PRESIDENT MUSEVENI BLASTS MPS FOR TURNING THEMSELVES INTO PURCHASING OFFICERS

The President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has blasted Members of Parliament who have turned themselves into purchasing officers during this corona virus pandemic.
Museveni who was addressing the nation on Corona virus pandemic through TVs and radios explained that the 20M given to MPs was supposed to be hand over to their respective district task forces.
Museveni added that after the hand over, the MPs were supposed then to get a clearance from their respective CAOs.
Two weeks ago , a supplementary budget of 304 billion shillings was passed and Shs 10 billion was allocated to Parliament thus every MP is supposed to get shs 20 million.
Two members of Parliament petitioned the court seeking to halt the Parliamentary Commission from paying sh10b to MPs to fight COVID-19.
