TENSION MOUNTS FORT PORTAL MUNICIPAL OVER MISSING LAND TITLES.

Tension has mounted Fort portal municipality as councilors have petitioned the inspectorate general of government to investigate the whereabouts of several land tittles for the municipality.
In a letter dated 5th 01-2018 copied to the RDC Kabarole,LC 5 Kabarole,CAO ,town clerk, mayor, internal Auditor Fort portal, Human Resources fort portal, Diso,CIID,Aunti corruption ,councilors claim that they dont know the custody of over 10 land tittles.
Councilors also accuse the former town clerk fort portal municipality Deo Ndimo that was transferred to Ibanda in December last year for the illegal and forged hand over report to Bamanyisa Godfrey the new town clerk to fort portal municipality which they claim has hindered them as councilors to monitor and work.
The tittles in question are plot no. 2,4,5,6,7,9,11 and 12 queens lane and plot no,21,23,25, and 27 queens road free hold register volume 461 folio 18 2007 area 2.044 hectares.
Plot 3-7 Kampala road, Mpanga market free hold register volume 227 folio 4192 area 0.630 of an acre, plot 2 Mwenge block 120 land at Busainga Kihura Mwenge 1986 area 66.249, plot 2A-8 Kamuhigi road and plot 26-30 Balya Road leased from church of Uganda 2006 area 4.40 hectares, Katalekenjara plot, Bwamba road, Mugunu washing bay, Katojo farmers market and kitere water management site.
Councilors disclosed that according to the public service standing orders 2010 section F-D stipulates and emphasizes that hand over report should consider and have, mayor policy issues, government properties under the custody of public officer and among others which Ndimo did not do.
Councilors are seeking for an immediate intervention through investigations on the forged hand over whereby the document was signed by different signatories where the mayor signed on a public holiday and at night.
They further said that the document signed does not show the number of staff, Bank accounts and balances,and among others therefore asking IGG,CIID and the office Lt. Col. Nakalema of anti corruption unit in the office of the president to investigate before the new town clerk proceeds.
RDC Kabarole Asiimwe Steven said that there are many issues in Fort portal municipality though raised nothing had been done.
Asiimwe called for office of Lt. Col. Nakalema to intervene as she has been doing in other districts.
When contacted on phone Ndimo disclosed that he handed over the office to the new town clerk with all required documents.
Getting a comment from the mayor Fort portal municipality was futile as he was not in his office.
