There was overwhelming defeat for woman members of parliament in Ankole and kigezi sub regions. Each district had its own dynamics. On the other hand some of them were similar.
GREATER BUSHENYI
Five woman MPs from five districts, only one woman MP survived; Hon Annet Katusiime Mugisha won also with stiff competition from little known Viany Kemigisha Nyamunyonyi.
In Mitooma district, Hon. Agasha Bashisha was defeated by Rabecca Namanya despite the RT Hon deputy speaker’s support to the incumbent. Powerful Sheema woman MP Rosemary Nyakikongoro was defeated by a newcomer nikenamed Akooki Kasheema district. In Buhweju, Oliver Koyekyenga was set off power by Annet Byamukama. Worse still even wife of late tycoon Obadia Rushambuza, Noam Kibaju who was defeated from sheema north constituency by senior politician Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye.
In Rubirizi, Hon. Kesande Bataringaya was put out of action by newcomer Nalongo Byamukama.
GREATER MBARARA
In Rwampala district highly connected Hon. Molly Asimwe was defeated by Annet Tisasira from Bugamba sub-county. In Isingiro district, the incumbent Hon. Clare Mugumya accepted defeat before counting ended. Tallying was suspended yesterday but other two new contenders who include former Kagadi RDC Lillian Ruteraho were neck to neck.
In Mbarara city, Ritah Bwahiika was defeated by new comer one ms Kibaju. Mbarara district main was won by popular district councilor Lydia Muhimbura defeating Hon. Rwebyambu.

Ibanda district was won by former MP Joveline Kalisa putting out of action Hon. Bainomugisha.
In Ntungamo district Hon. Bata was defeated hands down. In Rukungiri hon Kaharata was defeated by Veteran female politician Paula Turyahikayo
In Kabale district Hon Ndamira was defeated by little known. In Kanungu, incumbent MP was defeated. In Rukiiga district Dr. Syrivia trounced Hon. Kamusiime.
