Suspects detained at Bushenyi police Station are facing a risk of starvation due to the food shortage that has hit the station.
According the police spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi; SP Martial Tumusiime who talked to www.mknewslink.com reporter yesterday, government has not released money to cater for suspects and prisoners feeding since last four months.
He adds that suspects in the police custody have a right to eat but police have no food feed them.
Tumusiime warns the general public to avoid committing crimes especially this time when the state prosecutors are industrial action.
According to Tumusiime , police have opted to release suspects with minor offences while those with capital offences are detained until the prosecutors end their strike.
At the beginning of this month state prosecutors under their umbrella Uganda Association of Prosecutors (UAP) laid down their tools demanding a salary increment.
