National Water and Sewerage Cooperation in Kabale has secured high pressure jetting truck to clean up the town’s sewerage network.
The intervention follows the concern from residents in Central division and other areas in Kabale Municipality accusing National Water and Sewerage Corporation-NWSC over several leaking sewerage lines in town. The mess was a result of the breakdown of the sewerage system in several areas.
The residents claimed that the sewerage line that discharges human waste would expose them to water borne diseases such as cholera and dysentery.
According to the Area Manager for National Water and Sewerage Corporation Kabale Branch Lenny Otai, the high-pressure water truck will be pushed into the dirty pipeline to dislodge all the dirt and flush it away into a gully hole.
He said that the process will take about a week to empty the whole sewer line in municipality. He however accused the locals for littering unwanted debris like sand, bottles and others which leads to daily blockages.
