SENIOR COUNSEL TUSUBIRA PULLS OUT OF DEO OMUHATIZI’S ELECTION PETITION

Senior lawyer Paul Tusubira has pulled out of election petition where he was representing Deo Atuhaire Omuhatizi the Buhweju District chairman. Atuhaire is accused by his arch rival Dr. Phillip Panadol of stealing his victory.
While appearing before court today morning, counsel Tusubira told court that he commissioned affidavits of electoral commissioner Buhweju District before he got instructions to represent Deo Omuhatazi.
Senior counsel Tusubira added the electoral commission Buhweju District is the second respondent in the above petition whereas Chairman Omuhatazi is the first respondent.
“I totally didn’t want this conflict of interest to be manifested in the above petition. That is the only reason why I asked the judge to discharge me from the case which she did immediately,” senior counsel Tusubira told www.mknewslink.com and mk news link.TV
The case continues to be heard with only Hon Cohen KYampene representing Omuhatazi Deo. Dr Panadol Phillip on the other hand is represented by two young lawyers.
