The office of the president through Directorate for Ethics and Integrity has formed committees and forums in different district in an effort to fight against Corruption.
Alex Okello the Permanent Secretary of Directorate for Ethics and Integrity in the office of the president while launching Kiruhura district integrity promotion forum yesterday at Kiruhura district council hall said that the committee of 17 people chaired by the RDC will help the central government to fight corruption.
Okello noted that corruption is supposed to be fought from the bottom not from the centre because most people who practice corruption deal with the beneficiaries’ therefore local people should be the leading fighters of corruption.
He called upon everyone to come on board and cooperate with the forum that has been launched so that they can fight against corruption in Kiruhura and the country at large.
In her remarks the Kiruhura RDC Catherine Kamwiine welcomed the idea saying that fighting against corruption should not be left to one person but collective efforts must be employed. Kamwiine called upon all people to report cases of corruption and that they should not fear as the government has the law to protect them, therefore they should feel free and fight the evil.
