Ibanda Municipality principal health inspector, Mr. William Ndyanabo, has warned people operating private drug shops against involving themselves in treating patients who seek to buy drugs after presenting to them medical cheats.
Mr. Ndyanabo said some patients present medical forms prescribed by senior medical officers from government health centers for the drugs which are out of stock from their drug stores, but the drug shop attendants try treat them as far as administering injections behind the tables and counters.
Mr. Ndyanabo sounded the warning while inspecting most of drug shops and private clinics in Ibanda municipality last week. He said some sick people who fail to get medicines in government health centers opt to seek the services to buy the drugs from the private clinics and drug shops where they end up taxed heavily.
He explained that his office has received shocking news that some drug shops attendants who are unqualified pose as doctors or dentists to give services to the people who come to buy the medicines.
Some people have told the www.knewslink.com news website that they have fallen in the hands of such people who call themselves doctors or Dentists who remove the teeth of their children and end up making them deformed in jaws. They said even some unqualified doctors carry hernia surgical operation behind the tables or counters and charge the patients a lot of money. And there after close the business premises and change the business venue.
“The Municipality e have joined is very different from where we have passed through in the past. If you are caught injecting, operating or treating a patient in drug shop behind the table, just your life will be in danger. You will be arrested and produced in courts of law”Mr. Ndyanabo warns.
