10 BUSINESSMEN/WOMEN ARRESTED IN BUSHENYI-ISHAKA MUNICIPALITY FOR BREAKING MUNICIPAL PADLOCKS

Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipal council has arrested ten people for breaking municipal padlocks that were put on their shop doors because of failure to pay trading license fees.
According to the deputy town clerk Mr. Didas Muhanguzi, the businessmen were arrested from Kizinda, BassajjaBalaba, Bushenyi, Ishaka, Bwegiragye, and St. Kagwa among others.
He added that the arrested include Nadembe Rossette, Micwemirungi Penlope from Bushenyi Central Market, Kayondo Majiddu Ishaka, Elisa Ndyamwijuka, Turyacungugwa Amidu all from Ishaka, Natamba sadihk Bassajja Balaba, Kamusiime Meloni from Kizinda.
The above arrested businessmen and women have been forwarded to Bushenyi Chief Magistrate’s court to decide on their fate.
He also said that other businessmen and women are at large and the enforcement officers are looking for them to be arrested.
According to trading licensing act, when a municipal council puts a padlock on your door shop, the owner should be fined 40000 daily until the padlock is removed.
He also said that the act stipulates that the person who dares to break it, he/she is convicted for six months and a fine preferred by the trial magistrate.
