10 SHENGELI WORKERS REMANDED OVER FUEL THEFT

The Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court in Kagadi District has today
remanded ten workers of Shengili Engineering construction limited
Company to Kagadi government prison on charges of theft.
Shengili Engineering construction limited Company is responsible for
tarmacking Kabwooya-Kagadi-Kyenjojo road.
The group with others still at large, was on Monday this week caught
red-handed siphoning fuel from the company’s trucks in Kitegwa
village, Ruteete Sub County, Kagadi district.
They include; Alihasan Baguma driver, Robert Muhumuza engineer, Julius
Isabirye driver, Geoffrey Ntege driver, Joseph Onyango driver, Amisi
Balikagaba driver, David Dudura driver and January Atukwase driver.
Court presided over by Simon Toloko, heard that the group was found with four jerrycans of Fuel worth 250,000 shillings.
Appearing before court, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges which triggered the magistrate to send them on remand until 16th of this month.
Toloko noted that he could not grant them court bail since they are coming from
different localities.
However, the OC Ruteete police post, Jesper Mardrine Rungyenzapola
who was also arrested on suspicion of conniving with the suspects, did
not appear before court.
