13 TEACHERS FROM SAME SCHOOL TEST POSITIVE TO COVID 19 IN KIKUUBE DISTRICT

Thirteen teachers from one of the primary schools within Kyangwali Refugee settlement in Kikuube district have tested positive for COVID-19.

Dr. Nicholas Kwikiriza, the District Health Officer Kikuube said that as they were picking samples from teachers who were reporting for duty, one teacher presented signs and symptoms of corona virus.

He added that when samples from 26 teachers of one school were taken to Uganda virus research institute, the results turned out with 13 teachers positive.

Dr. Kwikiriza said that they decided to halt the opening of the school in order not to endanger the lives of pupils.

Kikuube district has an accumulative COVID19 case log of 113 with one death all from Kyangwali refugee settlement camp.
