Fifteen million Uganda shillings have been allegedly stolen from Kyeitembe model primary school in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality. According to the parents meeting that sat yesterday 13th sep 2016 at the school, the alleged stolen money was raised from a fundraising.
The stormy meeting which was chaired by the chairperson school management committee Mr Daudi Bukomoko accused the headmistress of the school m/s Deborah Kinombe for stealing the money.
According to parents the money in question was meant to renovate pupils dormitories but currently the dormitories are still dilapidated and un safe for pupils to sleep in.
Parents also resolved to take a loan from a commercial bank to rehabilitate dormitories before third term begins. However they still resolved to continue demanding their money from the headmistress.
They noted that part of the loan should also be used to pay teachers’ salaries and allowances because the headmistress had adamantly refused to pay them.
Kyeitembe model primary school is a government aided school which used to have over 600 pupils but currently has 300 pupils. Parents agree to pay extra fees to cater for school needs.
