17 BUSHENYI RESIDENTS, INCLUDING REV.FR. PUT UNDER SURVEILLANCE AFTER RETURNING FROM COVID 19 AFFECTED COUNTRIES

The Bushenyi Distirct health officer Dr. Edward Mwesigye has confirmed that 17 people are under surveillance for COVID-19 Bushenyi District having returned from affected countries.
He noted that these people are Ugandan nationals who came back home from Dubai ,Rwanda, DRC and other from Italy among other countries.
Mwesigye told www.mknewslink.com that among people under quarantine is a Reverend Father from Bitooma town council who recently returned from Italy.
He clarified that a person was quarantined for 14 days at Kampala international teaching hospital in Ishaka after returning from Rwanda with symptoms and signs of COVID-19.
Bushenyi RDC Jolly Tibemanya revealed that they are to set up a task force of 9 people from the district to the village level .
These remarks were made today in the meeting at the district with , District LC V Chairman ,DISO ,GISO , CAO ,Bushenyi Municipality Mayor , District health Officer with few other political councilors .
The RDC said that at the village level task force shall be able to monitor residents who carry visitors from outside then report them to authorities.
He urged residents to report to authorities any one they see with signs and symptoms of COVID 19 because when some one shows no signs and symptoms, he/she cant be taken into quarantine.
He warned parents to be security conscious on their children , noting that president’s directive on closing of schools was that schools are crowded worrying why parents still allow their children to loiter in towns and villages.
According to CAO Malik Mahab they received circular from the permanent secretary minister of Local government containing 10 things to the CAOs and Town clerks of municipalities in the whole country suspending all Council meetings.
