Education and sports minister Janet Kataha Museveni has vowed to make ethics and integrity part of the education curriculum in the country.
Janet Museveni said ethics and integrity are very much necessary for the learners more especially in the field of medical profession which is paramount for people’s health.
Speaking to people of Kanungu in at Uganda school of nursing Bwindi where 36 students graduated in nursing and midwifery, the first lady thanked God for having given her the opportunity to head the ministry so as to plant some seed of ethical training in the medical profession hence reverse the monetary negative trend that has cropped up among health workers.
She said this is the reason why maternal mortality has failed to come down in the country because medical professionals in most cases abandon their profession values for financial gains at a very critical time when their kindness and protection is much needed by the expectant mothers.
