In Isingiro—
Two sub county chiefs in Isingiro district are on spot for mismanaging 87 million shillings.
Herbert Muhangi the RDC Isingiro district told www.mknewslink.com that the 87 M Community Procurement UWA funds were supposed to benefit people who live in two sub counties of Rugaaga and Rushasha.
He said that as district officials, they agreed with UWA to set up a standard block with three class rooms at Kendobo Primary school in Rugaaga Sub County worth 40 Million shillings and a 7KM road in Rushasha Sub County at 47M.
The RDC noted that they were however surprised when they found out that Rugaga subcounty Chief one Dan had put up one classroom at Kendobo Primary school instead of three while one Alex of Rushasha had an incomplete road; without marram and culverts.
Isingiro district chairman Aaron Turahi told www.mknewslink.com today that the two sub county chiefs did not follow government procedure since they did not hire any contractor.
Turahi added that as part of investigations, they have so far instituted a committee to investigate the two sub county chiefs of Rugaaga and Rushasha sub counties.
He revealed that they have also given the duo an ultimatum of two weeks to refund the money or face imprisonment.
