IN FORT PORTAL—-
Leaders in Kabarole district have joined their hands to petition the government over the big demand for recruitment of agricultural extension personnel at sub county levels in regard to poor performance of Operation Wealth Creation program (OWC) in the district.
It’s clear that in 2014, president Museveni suspended the National Agricultural Advisory Serves (NAADS) over poor management of the program funds and substituted it with Operation Wealth Creation.
During the district stakeholders meeting that was held at Kitumba district headquarters yesterday, the leaders observed that OWC has failed to reach its predicted standards due to lack of personnel to teach the farmers on disease control among others.
The district chairman Richard rwabuhinga revealed that even after three years of inception of OWC, there is no any impact by this program.
LC3 chairman Kabonero Kyaligonza John explained that the government should intervene to recruit the extension workers to ensure effective output.
The deputy RDC Mrs. Rose Monday Byabasaija urged people to work as a team if they are to benefit from this program effectively.
