In Ntungamo——–

A Fuso lorry has rammed into onion sellers at Rwahi trading center along Ntungamo- Kabale road killing ten people on spot and four injured.
The driver of Fuso registration number UAV 415V lost control of the vehicle in the afternoon before entering into onion road side vendors at Rwahi trading center
Rwizi region police spokesperson Vicent Ssekate said Evarest Muhangi a driver to the Fuso was arrested and kept at Ntungamo police station as investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Itojo hospital mortuary for postmortem and the injured four are admitted for medical attention
Mr. Ssekate warned drivers to avoid reckless driving and respect and observe traffic rules.
By press time only Kellen Akullu 50yrs had been identified.
In the last six months over 600 people have died in road accidents.

Police in mbarara is holding a 28 year old UPDF officer attached to Makenke 2nd division army barracks for allegedly snatching a handbag containing shs180000 from Ritah Katushabe
Mbarara OC –CID Chiriga Taban identified the soldier as Private Edgar Tugume a student at Kadogo polytechnic community school at Makenke army barracks
On July 4th Edgar attacked Ms. Ritah Katushabe from her gate in Nyamityobora ward, Kakoba division mbarara municipality and grabbed a hand bag she was carrying containing ug shs 180000.
Ms. Ritah made an alarm alerting neighbuors who arrested and took Edgar police to answer charges of theft.
Mr. Chiriga Taban said Edgar will be produced in court to answer charges of theft and attempted murder.
He warned the public to always be vigilant and inform police of any insecurity in their area.

Five teachers of Bishop Mcallister college Kyogyera in Sheema district have been arrested today morning following robbery that resulted into murder of three employees of the school.

According to the principal Rev. Caleb Twinamatsiko the attack was planned by insiders who knew that  he had withdrawn a lot of money from the bank meant for salaries of school employees.

The dead were identified as Pauline Mbaine, Hebert Mugabe (security guards) and Chrispus Tumusiime(cook)

When police sniffer dogs were brought to the crime scene, they directly went to houses of the five teachers and a school neighbor and police arrested them immediately.

The greater Bushenyi Regional Police commander Micheal Musani who is currently at the scene told journalists that no doubt this was a  planned robbery by staff and residents.

A DOCTOR AT BUHINGA HOSPITAL IN KABAROLE DISTRICT

The principle hospital administrator Buhinga Regional Referral hospital Ms. Grace Rubale has revealed that the number mentally ill patients at the facility increases on a daily basis.

Speaking to mknewslink reporter in an interview, Rubale noted
that in a day the hospital admits 35 to 40 patients which are beyond the normal standard capacity of the facility.

She observed that  such the most affected are youth between 18 to 35 years of age which has hindered development in their respective communities.

Ms. Rubale blamed the illness to excessive use of drugs like marijuana, alcohol, and high levels of poverty  and stress.

She urged the public to support mental illnesses patients in rehabilitating them so as to fight the scourge in the district.

Police in Kabale district have arrested 18year old man for defiling 15
year old girl.
The victim is a pupil in primary six at Kashambya parents Nursery and
Primary School and from Nyaruziba cell Rutengye parish Kashamya sub
county Kabale district.
It is alleged that Benjamin Kidokori a pit sewer from Rwakikara
village Muhanga town council Kabale district took advantage when the
mother of the victim was admitted at Kabale regional referral hospital
and the father attending to her.
On 1st July this year went at home, convinced the victim and took her
to Rubare market for shopping and later married her.
The Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate says that police was
notified and arrested the suspect immediately. Maate is however
calling on the public to protect the rights of children, adding that
after investigations he will be aligned in court to answer the charges
accordingly.
