FOUR RUBANDA DISTRICT CANDIDATES FAIL NOMINATION DEMANDS

Rubanda district electoral commission registrar Ismail Atwijukyire rejected nominations of four candidates for failing to have the required documents.
Four candidates whose nominations were turned down had forged signatures as others were not legible for the positions contested on.
Mr. Benjamin Mbabazi who was vying for LC5 post on UPC ticket, failed to acquire fifty signatures of voters in six sub counties of Rubanda district.
Another UPC candidate Syrasi Turyagyenda on councilor LC5 representing the elderly failed to get any voter to second his candidature whereas Samuel Nuwahereza was not nominated as male youth district councilor on UPC ticket since he had exceeded 30 years.
The Kigezi region UPC vice president Viola Nahabwe told journalist her party had fronted five candidates to fight for positions in the district but only one had required documents.
FDC’s Felix Ngabirano nomination as District chairperson was cancelled since he did not have the required age of 30 years to take the district’s highest job.
However FDC‘s Joseph Ruhangariyo was nominated as the LC5 boss on FDC ticket, Jogo Kenneth Biryabarema as LCV chairperson on NRM ticket, Prossy Mbabazi Begumisa as woman MP on NRM ticket, Vastine Katushabe as woman MP on FDC ticket, Steven Kasyaba Ampire as LCV chairperson independent.
