TWO KABAROLE YOUTH LEADERS ARRESTED FOR SELLING OWC HEIFERS

The Deputy RDC Kabarole Mrs. Rose Mande Byabasaija has warned the public against selling the items that were given under the Operation Wealth Creation program (OWC).
Her comments came days after the arrest of Mr. Basiima Hidden Akiiki the former Youth Chairperson Kabarole district and one Josephat all residents of Karambi Sub-County on allegations of selling the heifers which they received under OWC program.
The two are alleged to have sold a heifer worth 2.5 million shillings without the consent of either local leaders or top officials from the OWC program.
It is alleged that Basima Hidden and Josephat who were released on police bond sold a heifer to Kasaija Match one of the committee members in charge of distributing the heifers under the OWC program, at a cost of one million shillings.
Rose Mande Byabasaija advised that these items are given out to people to help them improve on household income.
