IN KABALE—-
Inspector General of Government Irene Mulyagonja Kakooza has
implicated former Kabale Municipal mayor Dr Pius Ruhemurana in
irregularities in allocation of plots in Kabale Housing estate by
Kabale Municipal council.

In 2013, the office of IGG received various complaints from a number of
residents of Kabale Housing estate who alleged that the allocation of
plots in the former estate was marred by irregularities. Its further
alleges that Deputy Town clerk Lauben Ntgeyereize, had enriched
himself out of illegal sale of the plots in Kabale municipality and
acquired a number of properties.
The report dated 11th October 2016, indicates that Ruhemurana
constituted an illegal verification committee that verified 51 of the
55 identified sitting tenants. Kabale Municipal council executive
committee approved the purported allocation of the estate plots to
sitting tenants by the illegal verification committee.
The report also indicates that some tenants like Ms Safina Ahumuza and
Ms Molly Tumushabe were unjustifiably denied the plots on which their
respective former residences were situated.  The report also shows
that plots were irregularly leased by council without following the
established procedures rendering this leasing a nullity.
The report has also cleared Ntegyereize of allegations of enrichment
saying that his assets were verified and found to be within his
financial means.
The IGG has instructed town clerk to immediately constitute a
technical committee to validate the verification of the 55 sitting
tenants and also validation of number and location o plots and ensure
that they are accounted for.
It also says that the contracts committee should re-allocate the plots
for easing sitting tenants and in the so doing they should ensure
that MS Ahumuza and Ms Katushabe are allocated their respective plots.
The report adds that council contracts committee leases plots to all
the former sitting tenants as verified and also it disposes all the
remaining plots as law mandates.
The Kabale Municipality Mayor Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha says that
the report has brought out the allegations. He says that council will
ensure implementation of IGGs recommendations.

 IN FORT PORTAL—-

Police in Kyenjojo district are hunting for a 45 year old woman on allegations of killing her husband and dumping the body into a pit latrine.

The deceased has been identified as Magezi George, 48 years, a resident of kikondogo village, kyakaramata parish, kihura Sub County in Kyenjojo district.

According to Rumanyika Everest and AliganyiraDanniel, both residents in the same area ,the suspect is Asimwe Jennifer who allegedly killed her husband accusing him of adultery.

It is reportedly that the deceased had been missing for at least two weeks and when the residents asked Jennifer about the where abouts of hersband, she said he had gone to get medical treatment but since then he had not returned.

The decomposed body has been removed from the latrine today by the residents together with a nearby police for official burial ceremony.

The suspect is currently nowhere to be seen,and police is seriously hunting for her to answer charges of murder.

Tumushabe Lydia,the police spokesperson for Ruwenzori region,however noted that for her she had not got the details though much information has already been compiled at the scene.

IN KISORO—

Police in Kisoro district have discovered a gun that was stolen from a police officer who was murdered by assailants. The gun that was taken is AK47 rifle belonging to the deceased.

On 2^nd August this year Moses Kilongosi who was attached to the Field Force Unit, assailants attacked him while on duty at the home of the Resident State Attorney of Kisoro district, David Mugamba. Mugamba’s home is near Kisoro View Guest House along Mutanda Road.

The Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the gun was recovered yesterday by young men who were grazing cows at Airstrip in Kyahi sub county Kisoro district. He says that when the boys saw it wrapped in a polythene bag, they reported to police, which picked it without magazine and bat.

Maate is calling on everybody to be vigilant in informing police when they see anything like a riffle to minimize on the poor usage.
