NEW DAWN AS LIVESTOCK FARMERS RECEIVE NEW CATTLE DRUG

Farmers in Ibanda district over the weekend received a new drug dubbed Tixfix acaricide which is used in killing ticks in cows, goats, pigs, sheep and dogs.
The chair person Ultravetis company Mr. Wasiira Moreidi gave out the drug to the farmers last Friday in Ibanda district and advised farmers to embrace the new product on market as one way of controlling ticks.
He added that Tixfix is an acaricide that has been tested for veterinary use only for spraying only against ticks, mange, mites and lice on cattle, sheep, goat and pigs.
“the drug acaricides has been used in countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and South Sudan and many farmers in Uganda have welcomed the idea to use the drug to fight the East Coast fever in cattle;”
“ the purpose of the workshop is to bring awareness to livestock farmers and discuss with them about the acaricides and know how to use it.” Wasiira added.
Mr. Tuni Robert one of the manufacturers of Tixfix under Ultravetis Company in Kenya partnering with Rotam Company, he said that this acaricides is of a higher efficacy and does not irritate animals. He added that TIXFIX acaricide is one of the most important ectoparasites in the farm, affordable to all classes of people and environmental friendly among other acaricides.
