KABALE RDC STARTS GUN COUNTING EXERCISE AS X-MAS NEARS

Police in Kabale district has discovered a gun that was lost by Uganda
new Securiko limited guard.
On Saturday last week, Emmanuel Beijuka who is former Uganda People’s
Defense Forces soldier a resident of Kigongi A cell central division
lost a semi-automatic rifle while on duty.
It’s alleged that Beijuka was deployed in central market on Saturday
evening but by morning he disappeared with the gun to unknown place
and he was arrested on Monday this week but he could not tell
whereabouts of the gun.
The Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Maate says that the gun was
discovered yesterday by people in the market near the garbage
collecting centre in central market.
Maate adds that when people saw it dumped, they immediately reported
to police that picked it. He says that Beijuka will be charged with
negligence of duty.
The Kabale Resident district Commissioner Darius Nandinda says that
following this incident that happened, they have started auditing the
number of guns that security companies have to avoid guns landing in
wrong hands in the forthcoming festivities.
