The Bishop of Butaare diocese in Rwanda Rt. Rev. Nathan Gasatura has cautioned against sectarianism and fallacies in marriage arguing that only a few things concerned with time, space, and emotions towards individuals in marriage matter than choices from parents.
Speaking at the giveaway of Ms. Bridget Kagaju, daughter to Mr. Gershom Kagaju of Rubaare Ntungamo district on Thursday, Bishop Gasatura cautioned parents on trying to lure their daughters out of marriage or making them choices saying only their individual feelings matter in love and marriage other than their parents’ intervention.
He said quality of time given to each other, words spoken in marriage, what each one does for another for love and the physical touches matter in marriage and should always be considered for success of marriages.
Bridget, a sibling to Ms. Babra Itungo Babie, wife to renowned singer Silver Kagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobie wine was married off to Mr. Benjamin Dramiga, a soldier in the United states special forces with origin from Alur in Arua district. Bishop Gasatura said parents need to embrace marriages of whatever culture for their children given that children find peace in them and their feelings always count.
Several politicians and civic leaders including Singer Bobie wine, Justice Richard Butera, Hon. Capt. Gard Gasatura, former Ntungamo woman Member of Parliament Naome Kabasharira, Brig. Mateka Joram among others attended the function covered with pomp and color.
