PROF. KABWEGYERE SLAMS RICH GANG FOR THROWING MONEY INTO IVAN SEMWANGA’S GRAVE

Former minister for disaster preparedness and relief Prof. Tarsis Kabwegyere has labeled the act of throwing money into the grave at the late Ivan Semwanga’s burial Tuesday as assign of disrespect to the national currency.

Kabwegyere said the national currency should be given respect regardless and it shouldn’t be misused like that because it degrades its value

He noted that on similar occasion people poured booze on money as assign of bidding fare well to their departed colleagues saying it degrades the value of the national currency.

He said this while officiating as a chief guest at a function where Ishaka Farmers Sacco’s launch of Islamic Banking in greater Bushenyi. The Sacco was selected by micro-finance support center to pilot the progress of the bank in the sub-region

The nation went into frenzy early this week when the so called rich gang members threw money in the grave of their fallen colleague Ivan Semwanga who died in South Africa last week a move Kabweyere as rebuffed

In the similar incident reports have emerged that Ivan Semwanga is not dead. This follows pictures that appeared in social media yesterday of the late semwanga in a plastic surgery in Lebanon.

THREE CHILDREN KILLED BY CROCODILE

Three children in Kayaera village Kimengo Sub County in Masindi district have been killed by a crocodile at River Kafu in one month.

Auma Joyce, a resident of Kayera village, says that she lost her 13 year old girl at the beginning of May this year while she had gone to fetch water from River Kafu.

Another parent, I identified as Adaku David says that his 10 year old boy Simon Dadiga was also killed by a crocodile on 20th May this year while he had gone to collect water from the same River.

Sarah Akello a 17 year old girl was also killed by a crocodile on Thursday last week while fetching water from the same River and was buried in Apach district on Sunday last week.

Assistant supretendant of police also OC incharge Kimengo plice post Mukosa Stephen confirms that all these incidents were reported to police.

Mporopyo Siraji, the chairman LCI, Kayera village, says that they are over whelemed by crocodiles in the village noting that the situation is out of control.

He also blames the leaders for not responding in time saying that the leaders failed to respond in time but instead waited to respond after realizing that many people had died.

Mugisa Vicent, the chairman LCI Kibangya village, also explains that even the neighbouring villages are being disturbed by crocodiles adding that Uganda Wild life Authority should also come in and help them on the animals that destroy their crops like the Hipopotamas.

Sunday Musuli, an elder in Kimengo sub county, says that many people have been killed by crocodiles in Kimengo sub county but UWA has never helped the aggrieved families saying that instead the families are helped by other people citing pastor Kakande.

He adds that people from Kimengo sub county should start benefiting from the UWA fund which is given out to the people as corporate social responsibility to the people affected by the animals.

Ogwang Peter the animal control expert Uganda Wild Life Authority says that they have received several reports about the crocodile attacks noting that thay could not respond because they were in marchision falls National park transferring Kobs to Kedeppo National park.

Ogwang adds that they are going to recommend that the crocodiles be transferred since they visited the area.

Godfrey Nyakahuma, the Resident District Commissioner Masindi, blames the affected people for not always informing his office in time.

Late last year a crocodile also killed 13 year at River Kafu in Kaikanga village in Nakasongola district while she had also gone to fetch water
