‘‘STOP TAKING UGANDANS ABROAD TO CLEAN TOILETS”-NATIONAL CHAIRMAN VOCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TELLS GOV’T

President Yoweri Museveni has been put to light to ensure that technical education in Uganda is given priority and stop the tendency of exporting Ugandans abroad to clean toilets.
The call was sounded by the National chairman of technical Institutions;Adrian Ndemere on Saturday of July 22,2017 while speaking at the 4th graduation ceremony for Zion Institute of Tertiary Studies at Katungu Mothers Union Centre in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipalty.
Ndemere who is also the director African College of Commerce &Technology said that if Ugandans were equipped with technical skills, there would be no need to go abroad to do odd jobs.
He encouraged parents to allow their children join technical institutions and acquire technical skills if they are to get direct employment.
However, he lashed out at parents who send their children to technical institutions only after failing to obtain good grades.
He further argued that in Uganda of today a person with technical skills can easily employ University graduates.
Over 100 students were awarded certificates and diplomas in different disciplines at a colorful ceremony that was attend by thousands of people.
Presiding over, the function, the former deputy vice chancellor KIU western campus;Prof.Emmanuel Karooro warned the graduates to avoid all avenues leading to HIV/Aids if they are to be responsible citizens.
Bishop emeritus Rt.Rev.Yona Katoneene urged the graduates to put God in all they do if they are to be successful.
The Executive Director African International Christian Ministry, a college of science and technology; Patience Mwesigwa Kayeye urged the graduates to use their acquired skills to employ themselves other than looking for jobs.
