RUBANDA DISTRICT MPS REJECT LAND BILL

The Rubanda district Members of Parliament have opposed the
Constitutional land Amendment Bill 2017, saying it is unnecessary and
an injustice to Ugandans, and called upon the general public to always
be united with their legislators in a fight against such bills.
The Land Amendment bill seeks to amend article 26 of the constitution to
provide for the compulsory acquisition of land for government
projects.
However, the Rubanda district Members of parliament including Eng
Sabiiti Bamwoya Denis, the Rubanda West Member of Parliament and Henry
Ariganyira Musasizi, the Rubanda East Member of parliament say the
bill is an injustice to Ugandans and needs direct opposition by
every concerned citizen.

He noted that by chasing the citizens from practicing agriculture in
wetlands, famine cases in the Country shall increase as food security
shall be hindered unless they are compensated.
Musasizi, who is also the Chairperson, Finance, Planning and Economic
Development Committee says as legislators, they are in talks with the
president so that the land bill is not considered.

He also said people should also not be intimidated by the ongoing
campaign for all people to vacate wetlands.
The legislators said these during their Rubanda district road
inspection that ended yesterday, intended at monitoring the district
infrastructures majorly the roads.
