KIU, AWU STUDENTS TRAINED ON SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

A total of about 1300 students of Ankole western University and Kampala international university western campus were over the weekend equipped with skills on social media marketing by an online expert and Google trainer.
Mr. Rogers Kagoda carried out the trainings on Saturday and Sunday at the two campuses in Kabwohe and Ishaka. Each training took three hours.

The trainings according to Kagoda are funded by an Indian international company, Centum learning in partnership with a Ugandan based organization, Kafeero Foundation.
He added that a five year project is intended to train five million university and institute students in a few African countries, Uganda among them. It has so far covered only five months.
Students at both universities agreed to start using social media as a tool to make money by using the friends they have like on facebook to make money.

Trainer, Kagoda advised them forexample to start online shops, blogs and websites with an aim to make money.
He also told www.mknewslink.com editor that trainings will cover the entire country and they are currently in western region.
