BUSHENYI LEADERS WANT INDEPENDENCE BUDGET MADE PUBLIC

As preparations to celebrate Uganda’s 55th independence go on, the NRM secretary General for Bushenyi district; Umaru Muhanguzi has tasked the organizing committee to expose the budget to Bushenyi district leaders for early verification.

The national celebrations will be held at Bushenyi stadium in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality on October09, 2017 where President Yoweri Museveni will be the chief guest.
During the preparation meeting for the national event in the district council hall todaySept.14,2017 Umaru Muhanguzi tasked the permanent secretary from president’s office; Deborah Katuramu to show the financial budget to the district leaders so that they can support it in case it is wanting.
Muhanguzi continued to challenge the organizers to declare their financial stand for the independence celebrations preparations or to allow voluntary contributions. “If you don’t have money, for us we can contribute to make the function colourful” Muhanguzi said.
However, Katuramu said the budget will be tackled in next meetings.
Muhanguzi advised the organizing committee to think of planning to provide means of ferrying people from all corners of the district to the celebrations venue if the function is to be colourful.
Other local councilors including Matiya Kakoni Mbebembeire(Kyamuhunga)and Muyambi(Kakanju) also questioned the function organizers from Kampala why the budget is not put to public.
The member of parliament for Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality; Hon.Gordon Arinda Cowboy who was also in the meeting said Bushenyi district has got a big opportunity to host national celebrations for Uganda’s 55th Independence.
He appealed to all schools in the district to ensure that they bring children to bless the function.
