Journalists have been warned against attacking personal characters if they are to do if they are to practice professional journalism and partner with police in fighting crimes.

The warning was yesterday sounded by the police spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi; SP Martial Tumusiime while officiating at the 4^th Birth day celebrations for www.mknewslink.com at Ankole Resort Hotel in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality.

Tumusiime commended the management of www.mknewslink.com for publishing accurate and balanced news in addition to cooperating with police to fight against crimes.

Earlier, the www.mknewslink.com managing director; Wilber Muhwezi Kasibante had commended institutions and all people who have been supporting him in running the website since it’s inception in sept 2013.

He revealed that www.mkewslink.com is the only website in western Uganda whose readability is increasing from time to time.

He pledged his efforts to ensure that the www.mknewslink.com opens marketing office in Mbarara town very soon in a bid to extend services to all corners of the western region.

Speaking at the function, Issa Asiimwe;the guild president KIU western campus also commended the www.mknewslink.com management for their commitment in serving all Ugandans especially youth who make a majority in using social media.

The Western Ankole Civil Society Forum Chief Executive Officer;Apollo Kakonge also who attended the function commended the www.mknewslink.com managing director ;Muhwezi Kasibante for being innovative and a hardworking man adding that starting an organization is not a simple task.

He appealed to all well wishers and general public at large to support www.mknewslink.com since in is doing well in curbing unemployment in the country.

One of the T-shirts that were confiscated by police in Ntungamo

Police in Ntungamo District yesterday morning arrested 3 people for holding Anti-Removal of presidential age limit assembly without notifying security agencies.

According to the officer in charge Ntungamo central police station Oroch Benjamin the meeting was unlawful since the organizers did not follow the Order management Act.

The three who were picked from Trek Savannah Hotel Ntungamo include Edward Natamba; the executive director of south western institute for policy advocacy (SOWIPA) based in Ntungamo Municipality,Bamutonda John and the manager of the Hotel.

Natamba had mobilized over 50 all dressed in yellow and white T-shirts labeled AGE-LIMIT-IS THE LIMIT to express their dissatisfaction with their MPs who on Wednesday supported the removal of presidential age limit in parliament.

The police officers commanded by Oroch surrounded the Trek Savannah Hotel and ordered them to undress T-shirts. The T-shirts and gadgets were confiscated by police and kept as exhibits.
