The Bishop of Kinkizi diocese Rt. Rev Dan Zoreka has blasted his four reverands who attended a consultation meeting that endorsed the proposed controversial constitutional amendment bill No.102b

On Thursday, a section of selected Kanungu district political, civic, religious leaders and stakeholders converged in a consultative meeting that was organized by Kinkizi east MP Chris Baryomunsi in conjunction with district woman MP Elizabeth Karungi at Kanungu district council hall on Thursday.

During the meeting, a one Eldad Beyeza of Kanyantorogo Church of Uganda gave an assurance that he was delegated by Bishop Zoreka adding that those who are against the bill are ignorant and lack constitutional knowledge.

Now, While Presiding over a confirmation services held at Kancerere COU in Kanyantorogo Sub County, Bishop Zoreka said he was neither invited nor did he delegate anybody.

He asked his reverend to present their personal views not as the diocese because the diocese has its spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Kanungu district the woman MP Elizabeth Karungi said as people’s representative in parliament they will go with what majority of the local leaders that have resolved though others seem to have different views.

She said those de-campaigning the bill won’t influence anything because the authority to vote over the matter is invested in parliament.

In Bushenyi—
Emmanuel Kweyunga 31, youth based in Bushenyi has won an award from Food and Agricultural Oganization under UN in partnership with ministry of Agriculture.
He was awarded on Thursday together with others for championing youth employment opportunities through agriculture, food security and community empowerment of the youth.
In a competition that attracted 557 youth, Kweyunga managed to win an award for South west A region as a youth champion.
Kweyunga is the chief executive officer KEIRERE GREEN AFRICA AGENCY an initiative aimed at bringing all youth to employment, food security and community empowerment.
They were given a five year project to do the above activities.
They will share 3 billion Ugandan shillings to implement the project.

Dr Klaus Onnasch from Klohoshagan municipality has embarked on rain harvesting project in a bid to help the community in rural areas who move long distances in search of water.
Speaking to www.mknewslink.com editor at Rukararwe Partnership for Rural development Centre at Nyamiko in Busenyi town,Dr.Klaus noted that the above project will go a long way to help people of Bushenyi get water for domestic consumption and irrigation.

Germans appreciating traditional music
Dr.Klaus who celebrated his birth day at Rukararwe on Friday told the www.mknewslink.com that Bushenyi and Rukararwe in particular is his second home because he came to live at Rukararwe in 1986 with the late Ambassador Sam Nyinebitahwa and began with tree planting campaign five districts of current greater Bushenyi.
The party was meant to appreciate the Germans for a two week visit at Rukararwe.They went back to Germany yesterday Oct.28,2017.
He is optimistic that the greater Bushenyi sub region gets more rain that surrounding areas get. He added that he and other Germans support many project in partnership with Rukararwe and Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality. The projects include Echo Travel where the Germans come to tour while going to Queen Elizabeth National Park and other places in Uganda.
They also deal with coffee processors especially Ankole coffee processors in Sheema municipality, anti-HIV/AIDS campaign in partnership with Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality and Rukararwe by supporting people living with HIV in addition to sensitizing people on dangers of the scourge.

Rukararwe women singing farewell songs to German funders

In Kabale/Bushenyi–
A police officer under influence of alcohol has shot dead a young man in his 20s and seriously injured several others in front of Sports bet building in Kabale town.
According to eye witnesses, the officer who was yesterday totally drunk was riding on a police motorcycle registration number UP 4399, collided with a motorcyclist who was riding crossing the roundabout in front of Voice of Kigezi radio, after colliding, the drunk officer forced the opponent to surrender his motorcycle accusing him of knocking him.

When the cyclist insisted to continue on his ways, they developed a scuffle attracting other nearby people who requested the officer to set the cyclist free and he could not buy their idea thus starting to shoot at the crowd.

It is at this point that he shot dead the unidentified boy and seriously injured another all that had come out of Kings Sports bet to see the scuffle.
Elly Maate; the police spokes person for Kigezi region has confirmed the incident and identified the policeman as JohnBosco Monday.
