EMBATTLED MASINDI TOWN CLERK TRANSFERRED TO FORT-PORTAL

In Masindi—
Masindi municipal council town clerk, Deo Ndimo, has been transferred
to Fort-Portal municipality after a long standoff between him and
municipal councilors.
Ndimo has been in bad terms with the mayor Masindi municipality
Joab Businge and the councilors for over one and a half years.
The mayor and the councilors accused Ndimo of crippling
service delivery in the municipality. They also accused him
of failure to implement council resolutions.
Ismail Irumba Haruna; the chairperson social services committee also accuses Mr. Ndimo of failure to motivate the staff, to buy newspapers in the library for three months, maintain the vehicles and
to pay the contractors an act that annoyed the
councilors.
On the 26th October, 2017 the mayor and the members of the executive
locked Ndimo in his office after having a heated meeting.
He was rescued by the police who whisked him away.
On Wednesday this week Masindi municipal council passed a resolution
rejecting Ndimo as their town clerk thus demanding
for his transfe.
The situation comes at time vendors in Masindi are grappling with the
increasing garbage in Masindi main central market.
Mean while Bushenyi-Ishaka town clerk;Paul Batanda has been transferred to Mbale municipality whereas his deputy;Fednand Katunda Mukuru has been promoted to full town clerk and posted to Bugiri Municipality.
