Rev. Bro.  Austin Musinguzi has been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred last evening along Kitagata Ishaka high way.

According to greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, martial Tumusiime the cause for the 7:30pm accident was over speeding by late brother Musinguzi.

Afande Tumusiime added that the 35 year old from Kiterede Kyotera district has been working at St. Charles Lwanga secondary in Kitabi Bushenyi district.

He adds that motor vehicle registration number UBA 223T Raum sliver is the vehicle the deceased was driving at the time his death. He added the vehicle overturned several times at Kagarirambi near kitagata town.

Friends of the deceased Brother told www.mknewslink.com Reporter that Rev. Bro. Musinguzi had just returned from USA where he had been doing his masters degree.

Tumusiime appeal to drivers to follow rules and regulations roads set in Road and safety act such that accidents of this nature are avoided.

The Buganda Road Chief Magistrates court today Nov. 27, 2017 deferred the ruling on the bail application lodged by the directors of Red Pepper Publications to December 5.

The directors and three editors were today charged with “disturbing the peace of President Museveni” after the Red Pepper allegedly published a story in which they claimed that Uganda wanted to overthrow the regime in Rwanda.

Those facing charges include directors, Arinaitwe Rugyendo, Patrick Mugumya, Johnson Musinguzi, Richard Tusiime and James Mujuni and editors Ben Byarabaha, Richard Kintu and Francis Tumusiime. They had been detained at Nalufenya Prison in Jinja but court today sent them to Luzira.

They all denied the charges.

Through their lawyers Max Mutabingwa and Geoffrey Kandeebe , the directors and employees told court that the offences against them are bailable.

The lawyers presented a number of sureties for the accused adding that the accused work for the Red Pepper, a reputable newspaper which has been in existence since 2001.

“They are of good character and law abiding that they cannot abscond when granted bail,”Mutabingwa said.

However the state objected to the application. State prosecutor Abdul Salam Waiswa told court that the defence lawyers had presented a voluminous pile of documents that needed more time for perusal.

“Issues raised require getting affidavits from the investigating officers who are not here.We ask for an adjournment so we can look through them,” Waiswa said.

The Chief Magistrate James Eremye Mawanda said that the issues as raised by the state prosecutor were pertinent and needed more time.

“Court must put into consideration both sides of justice. I am allowing prosecution time to look through the documents and respond to the issues because they are pertinent, “Eremye said.

He however noted that he would be away up to 30th November for a training before adjourning the case to December 5 to allow the state to respond and to also give his ruling.

The Kabarole district police commander Musa Tibakirana has disclosed that there is an increased insecurity in Fort portal municipality attributing to prostitution.

Tibakirana said that it has been observed that prostitutes are the main causes of theft cases

He noted that prostitutes are keeping thieves in their lodges at night where many people have been robbed.

Tibakirana added that some prostitutes have started robbing their customers by spraying them with chloroform adding that they have received several cases of theft. He cited a recent incident where a man was robbed 3,000,000shs in a lodge in Kisenyi.

Tibakirana however disclosed that that security is planning to carryout night patrols and chase away all prostitutes along the streets of Fort portal municipality.

He further put the blame on men who go to buy prostitutes with big sum of money.

Immediately after the fort portal municipality mayor Rev. Kintu Muhanga Willy had just been elected promised to chase all the prostitutes on the streets of Fort Portal municipality but he was fought by some of the political leaders.

Business is back to normal at Fort portal regional referral hospital commonly known as Buhinga following the suspension of doctor’s strike medical services over the last three weeks.

The environment is now calm at the facility with doctors taking charge of the services that were over the past three weeks handled by medical personnel from the armed forces.

www.mknewslink.com reporter this morning toured at the facility in several departments where medics were in wards treating patients.

At least there is an increased turn up in the out patients department compared to the previous days.

Our reporter also spoke to some of the patients who disclosed that at least they have gained hope since there are doctors to treat them though there is no medical supply.

They added that when a patient comes is just diagnosed then after asked to buy medicine and other equipments for themselves.

The doctors suspended their strike on November 25^th at general assembly after government committed to addressing their demands by December 15^th.

Among the demands government promised to address was the provision of the emergency supplies in hospitals, as solution to the impasse between the state house health monitoring and salary reviews.

IN KISORO—

Police in Kisoro district is investigating circumstances under which two
people from same family were beheaded.

The deceased are Kefa Mugabe 30years and Moses Mftundinda also in his 30’s.
This incident occurred at Kamonyi village, Northern Division, Kisoro
municipality, Kisoro District.

The Kigezi region police Spokesperson Elly Maate says that police has
arrested one suspect but could not reveal details not to tamper with investigations. Maate adds that bodies have been transported to Kisoro
hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Maate adds that police has started investigations and on evidence the
suspect will aligned in court to answer charges accordingly.
