In Bushenyi—
Youth in Bushenyi district have received over 30 goats under a youth development project initiated by Ms Annet Mugisha.
Launching the goat project today at Bushenyi multipurpose hall, Ms Mugisha warned the youth not to slaughter them if they are to fight poverty among themselves.
The goat’s beneficiaries were youths picked from 13 sub-counties that form Bushenyi district.
The deputy Resident District Commissioner; Damian Turyatunga commended Ms Mugisha for her initiative to eradicate poverty among youth through giving them goats.
Turyatunga further urged the youth to rear the goats before they shift to cattle rearing adventure.
The national youth council chair person; Christine Abba warned the youth to avoid all avenues that lead to HIV/AIDS if they are to future responsible citizens.
Annet Mugisha who is the wife to Eng.Silver Mugisha;the Managing Director National Water & sewerage corporation decried the rampant habit of betting among youth which might be source of poverty and crimes in community.
The youth who looked optimistic commended Mrs.Annet Mugisha and her husband; Eng. Mugisha for supporting youth programs in the district.
The association’s main objective is to eradicate poverty among youth by starting up income generating projects.
Early this month, Mrs. Annet Mugisha gave 19 goats to Bumbaire Youth Development Association in Bumaire sub-county,Bushenyi district.

In Rukungiri

Police in Rukungiri district are investigating circumstance under which a 57 year-old man was yesterday beaten to death by unidentified people.

The deceased was identified as Purinari Sande ; a resident
of Butare, southern ward, Kanungu town council in Kanungu district who was found dead with bruises on the face and head.
The Kigezi region police spokes person Elly Mate said that the
deceased was allegedly killed by unidentified people at Nyakayaga cell, Nyakinego, Nyakagyeme Sub County in Rukungiri district.

He confirmed that three people so far have been arrested to help in investigations. However, he did not disclose the details of the suspects lest to jeopardize investigations.
Mate said that the body of the deceased has been subjected to postmortem and later handed over to the relatives for burial arrangement.

Police in Hoima is hunting for unknown vehicle driver who on Sunday night knocked two people dead in Kyakapeya, Mparo division Hoima
municipality along Hoima-Masindi road.

The vehicle whose driver remain unknown allegedly knocked a motorist carrying three people heading to town killing two of them on spot and injuring two others.

The deceased have been identified as Simon Kaahwa and Johnson Ayeballe; all residents of Kitongole village in Kyabigambire sub-county Hoima district.

The injured were identified as Enock Musinguzi and Swaibu Ayebaale who are currently admitted at Hoima Regional Referral hospital in critical conditions.

Mugisha says the vehicle driver continued heading to Masindi after the accident saying police is hunting for him.
According to him, police posts in the Albertine region have been notified and are on alert.

Mugisha however cautions motorists and drivers against overloading and over driving saying these are major causes of accidents in the district.

This is a second fatal accident to occur at the same place in less than two weeks. Two weeks ago, a Centenary Bank employee in Hoima identified as Ibrahim was knocked dead by a hit and run vehicle in Kyakapeya Hoima.
