Education minister Janet Museveni is tomorrow expected to release the results for Senior Four students who took Uganda Certificate of Education examination (UCE) last year.
The ministry spokesperson; Patrick Muinda confirmed to www.mknewslink.com in an exclusive telephone interview that the minister will formally release the results at 11am in the auditorium of the Prime Minister’s office.
This is after the Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) yesterday briefed top Education ministry officials on the students’ performance.
Unlike in previous cases, Ms Museveni did not attend the briefing in person and there was no explanation about her absence.
Some 326, 149 students sat for the 2017 final O-Level examinations, which was rocked with alleged massive leaks.
Uneb at the time ignored calls by sections of the public to cancel affected papers and set fresh ones.
Chemistry, Christian Religious Education (CRE) and Biology are some of the leaked papers that widely circulated on social media.

Several parents from Kabarole district have condemned the act of the ministry of education to close unlicensed schools at the beginning of the 1st term 2018.
Speaking to our reporter during an exclusive interview, parents said that the government’s decision is unfair to parents.“How can they close private schools while the government aided schools are the worst? Parents charged.
Parents said that majority of government schools have poor facilities like classrooms where as they lack materials like chalk, text books among others.
They further disclosed that though some private schools are not licensed, they have good studying environment that helped children to perform better which is not the case in government aided schools.
Parents further asked the government to have humanity before they act.
Recently the ministry of education issued a directive to all unlicensed schools not to open before they are fully registered.
Yesterday the resident district commissioner Kabarole Asiimwe vowed to close all unregistered schools in the district.

The Judiciary plans to establish regional court of appeal if shortage
of manpower is addressed.
This was disclosed by the Deputy Chief Justice Owiny-Dollo while
opening the Court of Appeal session at Fort Portal High Court. Dollo
said that there is need for court of appeal to operate outside
Kampala, but now it is impossible due to shortage of judges.
Justice Dollo also reminded the government on the need to recruit more
judges in order to dispose-off a huge case backlog in the court of
Appeal.
Dollo adds that there are plans to enable court of appeals to stay outside Kampala however there is limited number of justices of the court of appeal
Dollo said.
Currently there are only nine justices of the court of appeal against the approved 15 justices.
Dollo’s comments came after some people complained about the delay to
hear court of appeal cases and the costs invloved travelling to Kampala to access justice.
The court of appeal session in Fort Portal will handle 55 cases and will be presided over by a panel of three judges; Justices Kenneth Kakuru,
Fredrick Egonda Ntende and Lady Justice Elizabeth Musoke. The cases
include murder defilement and rape.
