KABALE FDC CHAIRMAN SUSPENDED OVER MISCONDUCT

The National Executive committee-NEC for Forum for Democratic Change has suspended the embattled Kabale district FDC Chairman Youth league Renah Stanislaus Owamani alias Kakimbiri over misconduct.
On 1st February this year, the Kabale Grade one Chief Magistrate Court
charged and remanded Owamani to Ndorwa government prison over alleged rape and burglary.
The prosecution led by Judith Nyamwiza, the State district Attorney
told court that on Christmas day, while at Mafuga Cell, Butobere Ward,
central Division in Kabale Municipality, the Owamani performed
unlawful sexual act with Patience Nanteza, 27, without her consent
which is contrary to the Penal Code Act Section 123 and 124 where the
accused is liable to face Rape charges.
On 23rd January this year, police in Kabale arrested Owamani over
alleged burglary and theft. Owamani burgled into a house of Everest
Tugeineyo, a businessman of Kigongi A, central division, Kabale
municipality and stole property including a coat that had a wallet
with 450,000 shillings, a National Identity card and other relevant
documents.
On 6th July 2017, a section of youth leaders from Forum for Democratic
Change-FDC in Kabale district petitioned the FDC’s National
secretariat demanding the suspension of Owamani over misconduct.
The youth accused him for voluntarily supporting the NRM candidates
against FDC candidates in the 2016 general elections which is
centrally to the core values and principles of the party.
They also accused Owamani of becoming a public nuisance which had tarnished the image of FDC youth in Kabale district and FDC party as a whole. In the same letter they indicate that Owamani was in Ndorwa government prison
on charges of theft.
According to the FDC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Policy and
Research Dr. Joseph Tindyebwa, NEC and National youth league in order protect the cooperate image of the party.
Tindyebwa adds that they have ordered the Kabale district youth league to elect the youth leaders in acting capacity until they elect substantiated chairperson.
