The LC V chairman Bushenyi district; Jafari Basajjabalaba has decried the rate at which people are losing trustworthy, saying now-days people can even steal from the church.

He says in the past offertories could be left at the altar which is not the case today due to increases theft.

Basajjabalaba made the remarks today while officiating at the fundraising function for completion of St.Kagwa parish Church held at St.Kagwa P/S playground.

The chairman who has been on forefront in fighting corruption recently intercepted the district physical planner and district engineer for having involved in corrupt deals with an intention to embezzle public funds.

The function was attended by managing director Nationala Water&Sewerage Corporation;Dr.Eng.Silver Mugisha,his wife Annet Mugisha, MP  Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality;Hon.Arinda Gordon Cowboy among others.

Hon. Cowboy mobilized  Ug.sh.10.000,000 from Kampala and himself contributed Ug.sh 2,000,000 towards completion of the church.

Over Ug.sh. 102 m was raised in cash and only ug.sh 19 m was in pledges.

People have commended Hon.Cowboy for connecting the church to his friends in Kampala who gave in their contributions.

He urged all institutions to fund-raise when there is a good cause.

Angry Residents in fort portal south division living along Bwamba road have threatened to dig ditches in the blocked road drainage silt, if the municipal officials fail to remove garbage and silt that has since blocked the drainage.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, residents noted that they have since appealed to the municipal authorities over the matter but nothing has been done.

The residents added that water has already begun flooding to their businesses entities due to failure to access the drainage over silt.

They also asserted that soon or later they will pick up deadly disease due to the stagnant deadly water if municipal officials do not take charge of the situation, as they appealed the mayor to carry out more supervision in the municipal suburbs

Recently the chairperson south division; Herbert Mugisa said that Fort portal municipality is the one responsible for emptying the drainages.

IGARA EAST newly elected Member of Parliament Hon. Micheal Mawanda Maranga has vowed to conclude the construction of Mwengura parish church of Uganda in Bushenyi district because its not up to standard compared to other parishes in West Ankole Diocese.

MP Mawanda who is the head of laity for Kyeizooba archdeaconry noted that his church where he prays from cant continue to appear bad.

He said this yesterday during Easter prayers at his church of Mwengura in Igara East. He gave one million shillings cash to help pay debts of diocese tithe. He also offered 2 million shillings to buy music system.

“I have built many churches in Igara East but mine cannot remain like this. Construction of a new one is at roofing level. This church is ranked last in the archdeconary and this is mine as head of laity. This can’t continue. Let us combine efforts and accomplish ours” Mawanda told a fully parked church

The parish priest for Mwengura church of Uganda Rev. Laban Bantungire hailed MP Mawanda for supporting his church and requested other sons from mwengura to support the project of building the church.

The bishop for the Rwenzori dioceses the Rt. Rev. Bishop Reuben
Kisembo Amooti has condemned the mushrooming fake products and fake
religious leaders in the country Uganda.
While preaching to hundreds of Christians who had turned up for the
commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ at St. John’s
cathedral yesterday, the bishop said that there are increased fake
products on the market and fake pastor in Uganda which he termed as
Robbery.
The Bishop told www.mknewslink.com Reporter that  many Ugandans have been robbed through buying
fake products that has resulted their putting their  lives into danger citing fake phones, drugs, chemicals and among other products.
Bishop Kisembo further disclosed that their some fake religious
leaders whom have conned people who  promise them heaven and earth claiming
that they give them wealth, cure diseases, performing miracles and at the
end people are disappointed because what they are being promised has
not come true.
Meanwhile the bishop has expresses great concern over the increased
crime rates in the country.
He said that said that there are increased murders citing the recent
kidnaps in the country, corruption scandals, and theft and among
others.
The man of God has therefore urged the government to intervene into
matter and Ugandans to repent if all these are to be eliminated in the
country.
