The minister of general duties in the office of the Prime Minister, Hon Mary Karooro Busingye, has disclosed that it’s not yet time to discuss politics noting that she has just coved two years in her five year term. She added that she will talk about elections on whether to contest or retire when her five year term is over.
Karooro said this while launching a two month vocational training course for women and girls at Katungu Mothers’ union in Bushenyi district.
The course which trains in saloon management, tailoring and knitting, making reusable pads, catering among others started on Monday 14th May 2018 and was launched today May 20, 2018.
Ester Mbayo the minister for presidency, who was the chief guest, disclosed that her ministry wrote a paper which was approved by cabinet to support the unemployed youth by giving them vocational skills.
She also noted that locally made reusable pads which cost only ug shs 500 which the young girls are training to make will help the girls from dropping out of schools. “Government will support such initiatives like making reusable pads by some youth groups to stop the problem of girls dropping out of primary schools and secondary schools” She revealed.

She noted that government is completely unable to full fill the presidential pledge of providing sanitary pads to all young girls because its is too expensive to government since the numbers of girls keep increasing daily.
Mbayo however, urged youth especially graduates to always train in vocational skills in order to create jobs on their own.
