Police at Entebbe International Airport has arrested Rodriguez Fagundez Albelys Doralys, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national for alleged possession of narcotic drugs.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Area police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, they received intelligence information indicating that Rodriguez had travelled from Sao Paulo in Brazil aboard Ethiopian Airline to Addis Ababa on route to Nairobi but later changed to Entebbe and was suspected to be carrying narcotics.
On arrival at Entebbe she was identified by our officers and the customs officials who searched her bag but found nothing in it,” Owoyesigyire said.
“She was subjected to a scan which revealed she had drugs in her stomach. She was then put under observation and passed out the 114 pellets (1660 grams) of suspected cocaine.”
According to the police mouthpiece, upon questioning the Venezuelan she told police that she left Venezuela for Sao Paulo where she started working in GAVION supermarket but on June 15 she was approached by a man only identified as Antonio who promised her a better paying job.
The suspect allegedly told police that she was taken to a house located in Villa Yolanda (Sao Paulo” and forced to swallow the pellets before being escorted to the airport for a plane to Ethiopia andshe was supposed to go to Alcom Hotel in Kibuli Uganda where somebody was to receive her

The 24 year old Venezuelan national is currently detained at Entebbe police station from where she will be arraigned in court on charges of unlawful possession of narcotic drugs and trafficking in narcotic drugs.
He however highlighted loopholes in the law against drug trafficking which he said is still weak noting that there is need for the Minister to urgently fast track appointment of the committee as provided for in sections 67 and 68 of the narcotic and Psycotropic Substances (Control) Act 2006.
According to the International Narcotics Control Board 2016 statistics, a kilogram of Cocaine was costing US $20,000 whereas Heroin went for US$10,000 for one kilogram.
The international body’s 2017 report shows that Africa remains a key transit region for drug trafficking.

Being in the parliment might after all not be so much about only politics as love is being fond and now the Buikwe Woman MP Judith Babirye 40years has found love and is currently getting ready for her secret marriage with Buikwe North Mp Paul Musoke Sebulime, 44 years.
It has been reported that Judith Babirye and Paul Musoke have been dating almost two years and that they have now decided to make it official this secretive introduction ceremony which is expected to be held on July 28 at Judith Babirye’s parents’ home.
According to a private Introduction invitation card that got out, it invites only a few people to attend this ceremony as the two members of parliament get to legalize their b0nking sessions.
“Hon Judith Babirye with pleasure invites you to her introduction ceremony due to take place on 28th July 2018 at a private venue that will be communicated,” the wedding card reads.

Bushenyi-Street Bash was the first of its kind and this event was organized by Reproductive Health Uganda to promote youth talents and control the spread of HIV/AIDS where there was free counseling, testing of AIDS and free medicines.
Among other artists were The Titanic Dancers, MC.Vybz International, Ocean Van Bellz, Sky Dancers, Jozy Zak, and finally super star CJ Champion hit the stage and performed four great jams including Omwonyo na Shukari, he went on to sing Omudarasini and fans geared up when the dj played Emboozi Y’abasinzi the most loved song this side. He left the stage after performing Muhara wa Bishop.
Omutuze Kijaana the BFM radio Sports Commentator was the last to perform on stage as he presented his Agafamunsi programme and football commentary.
The MCEEs of the day were Shaka Bitama of BFM Radio and Dj Demus Kizito. Also present was Denis Arinaitwe former producer at BFM radio.

The Bushenyi –Ishaka municipality mp Arinda Gordon ‘Cowboy’ applauded the leaders of central division mainly Chairman Mr. Stephen Karuti for this lifetime achievement for this division by buying a house worth Ug shs 96 million for its premises.
He said this in his speech during the opening of a new office of central division at Ruhandagazi Cell, Ward 2 in Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality. He also noted that this is a big challenge to the ministry of local government who still rent yet they are the source of money.
Cow boy revealed that the government has approved UGX 230billion to supply water to 12000 villages near town and UGX 4.9Trillion for roads with UGX800million meant for Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality in the next financial years of 2018/2019, 2019/2020, and 2020/2021.
He contributed a computer to the technical staff of the division and promised to ask the central government to continue supporting these town councils.
Jackson Kamugasha the mayor Bushenyi – Ishaka municipality asked the MP to lobby for a UPE school and Health centre 3 noting that it’s the only division without such institutions yet their neighbors have.

Stephen Karuti the Division Chairman said that it’s a dream come true having officially got a new office thus thanking all the councilors, LC1’s, LC2’s for their contribution in achieving.
Bashir Hangamaisho the Ward 2 chairman has also been given a new office at the new Division headquarters.

Public Procurement and Disposal Authority (PPDA) and Public Procurement and Disposal Appeals Tribunal have been blamed for failing out service delivery and gearing corruption in local governments.
Jeremiah Kamurari the Isingiro district chairperson said that these two statutory bodies are the leading promoters of shoddy work and corruption at the district level as there is a lot of connivance with district procurement officers.
Kamurari was speaking to journalists yesterday on the sidelines of the training workshop organized by Procurement and Disposal Appeals Tribunal at Lakeview hotel in Mbarara.
He added that this appeals and PPDA does not follow up the cases even if one complains which he says that its due to connivance and bribery in their offices.
Olive Zaale Otete the chairperson Public Procurement and Disposal Appeals Tribunal said that their mandate is only to receive complaints and look into them and give the recommendations then it’s upon PPDA to act and apprehend those against the law.
Olive noted that PPDA is protected by the law to work upon the recommendations of the tribunal on cases lunched in by complainants.
