The Bushenyi District chairman Jaffari Basajjabalaba has today 26th June 2018 advised farmers to always make proper use of animals’ drugs.
Speaking as a chief guest at a farmers’ seminar organized by West Ankole Dairy stakeholder’s Forum at municipal multipurpose hall in Bushenyi, Jaffari noted that most of the farmers administer the animal vaccines wrongly and this has affected the standard and quality of their output.

He added that veterinary doctors from the district have been facilitated to always visit farmers thus calling upon attendants of the seminar to make use of them and seek advice.
Namanya Joseph a veterinary doctor from ERAM (U) LTD emphasized that farmers should desist from treating animals without the help of trained personnel.
He has also advised farmers to cooperate if they are to fight diseases in animals where he noted that ticks can be fought if farmers cooperate.

The minister of Justice Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire has lauded renegade police officer Muhammed Kirumira for helping to expose the rot within the Uganda police force which has led to a series of arrests of senior officers.
These include Gen Kale Kayihura, who led the force for 13 years. The function was organized by Uganda Human Rights Commission
Otafiire was speaking at celebrations to mark the international day in support of victims of torture held at Old Kampala Secondary School playground on Tuesday morning.
“When Muhammad Kirumira said there was something wrong with his establishment, people were wondering whether he had not gone out of his mind. Current events show that there was a probability he was right. I would like to appreciate Kirumira for standing up and telling the country that there was something wrong [in the police],” Otafiire said.
He continued: “You see, we say shame is a revolutionary sentiment. The problem lies in not falling but not falling and not standing up. Like there is time for repentance in religion, there is time for second thoughts in politics and public service. Thank you Mr Kirumira, you put together the building blocks for us to trail blaze an investigation.”
Over the last couple of years, Kirumira, the former DPC for Buyende, has been outspoken about the rogue culture that has infiltrated the police.

He was one of the first officers to say that some senior police officers were working with criminals.
For his openness, Kirumira has suffered the brunt of the force which does not tolerate dissent.
This year he was slapped several charges by the police disciplinary court, although some have since been dismissed.

FIK FAMEICA’s CAMP AT LOGGER HEADS WITH FEFE BUSSI’s
Feffe Bussi and Fik Fameika are slowly gaining momentum. After months of back to back songs making attacks on each other, the battle has turned physical and now legal. It has been rumored that the two artistes in cold war as they both fight for the same audience.
Last week while at Jah Live studios in Makindye, the artistes’ managers were involved in a verbal and eventually a physical war with Karma Ivan(Fik Fameika manager) claiming to have been beaten by Arafat(Feffe Bussi manager). He then rushed and reported the case to police leaving Arafat behind coolers at Makindye police post during the weekend.
The bitter war continues between the managers and silently between artistes.

Amid many un answered questions from the public, the UPDF have said Ugandans should not worry about the fate of detained former Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, and leave the army to “appropriately” handle his case.
“Leave the matter of Gen Kayihura to the UPDF leadership. The leadership is handling it. It is a matter in our hands and is being handled appropriately,” Brig Richard Karemire, the Army and Defense spokesperson said.
He was responding to a question from journalists on why the general and his co-accused were, in violation of the constitutional provision, being held beyond the 48-hour threshold without being produced in court.

Thirteen days after the arrest and confinement of former Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura on unspecified offenses, the government is still silent on the next move it will take against the four-star-general.
Art 23 (4) of Uganda’s Constitution provides that: “A person arrested, restricted or detained…shall, if not earlier released, be brought to court as soon as possible but in any case not later than forty-eight hours from the time of his or her arrest.” The army arrested Gen Kayihura on June 13, alongside almost half-a-dozen former senior police officers seen to be close to him, and have since held them at Makindye Military Barracks and other detention facilities.
Mr Elison Karuhanga, a lawyer at Kampala Associated Advocates that is representing Gen Kayihura, yesterday said the former IGP had not instructed them to file a habeas corpus application to compel the state to produce him in court.
However, the Internal Affairs minister, Gen Jeje Odongo, without giving specifics, had told a news conference last week that Gen Kayihura had a case to answer.

Police in Bushenyi are investigating circumstances under which a security guard shot and killed one person last night at Bam petrol station in Kizinda.
Tibeyendera Patrick a security guard attached to Tiger security group shot and killed a person identified as Gumisiriza Kennedy son of
Ahmed Wijahi a resident of Gongo cell in Kyamuhunga.
Its alleged that Gumisiriza was trying to steal car at Bam petrol station registration number UAH 027J Colora 100 belonging to Abaho Rodgers.
According to Shallotte Nankunda, the manager Bam petrol station the
incident occurred at around 3:30am.
SP Mercial Tumusiime Police spokes person Bushenyi said the case was reported on 26th.june.2018 at Kiizinda police station by Tibeyendera Patrick.
Martial added that the Gumisiriza has been a habitual thief who was
recently released from Nyamushekyera government prison in Bushenyi
district.
He however said police have arrested the guard to help them in investigations.
However, Natukunda the manger bam petrol station said that two cars have been stolen from the parking slot. She also asked the police to release their guard.
The body of the deceased was taken to Kitagata hospital for a postmortem.
