JANET MUSEVENI EMPHASIZES GIRL-CHILD EDUCATION TO BUSHENYI PARENTS

The first lady who is also the minister for education and sports Janet Kataha Museveni has today July 14, 2018 asked parents to put emphasis on a girl child education.
In her speech delivered by the minister for KCCA Betty Kamya Turwomwe at a fundraising to raise money to construct a three storyed building at Bweranyangi Junior Primary School, the first lady asked parents to give first education priority to girls adding that when women are educated, the nation develops.
She thanked the West Ankole Diocese and other stakeholders for supporting the development of the school which is a church founded institution.
Janet contributed 11 million Uganda shillings cash to towards the construction of the building.
Other dignitaries present included the Minister of general duties in Prime minister’s office Mary Karooro Okurut, Arinda Gordon Bushenyi -Ishaka MP, Jaffari Bassajabalaba the Bushenyi district chairman ,Pablo aka Keneth Kimuli a Uganda comedian who is also an old student of the school among others
Over 110 millions of money and 250 bags of cement were collected during a function that took place at the school’s play ground.
