KISORO: POLICEMAN SHOOTS ONE DEAD, INJURES TWO

Police in Kisoro district has arrested their own for allegedly shooting civilian dead and injuring two others.
The suspect is Number 65261 PC Paul Mwanga attached to Field Force Unit. He is accused for allegedly shooting Stephen Ntagahorero 45 years to death and also injuring Desiteriyo Munyaneza 17 and Posiano Maniragaba 49 all residents of Gikoro village Rwingwe parish Nyakabande sub county in Kisoro district.
Mwanga together with No 46585 PC Denis Adii, a canine officer and detective No 36627 DC Amos Mwanamwolho all attached to Kisoro Police Station, are alleged to have today morning at around 10:00 am gone to visit a scene of burglary and theft reported by Gaston Ntamakuriro at Gikoro village where his bar had been broken into and his goat, a coat and a source pan were stolen, but on reaching there, they realized that the scene had been tempered with, a thing that made the complaint to be annoyed, inciting the locals to attack the police.
Mwanga who was armed scared the people in vain, and as they continued advancing to harm them, he shot live bullets killing one and injured two.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate says that the body of the deceased was taken to Kisoro Hospital Mortuary for postmortem while the injured were rushed to Mutolere Hospital. Maate says that Adii and Mwanamwolho were also arrested to help police in investigations.
